We are disappointed to report that one of the historic symbols of Monte Rosa, the refuge Guglielmina, was destroyed by a fire that broke out yesterday morning.
The causes are still unknown. The immediate intervention of firefighters from Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta has helped to stem the flames and evacuate seven people but could not save the building.
