UK specialist ski tour operator Ski Solutions is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, and to celebrate has created a charitable partnership with Make A Wish foundation – granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Ski Solutions are aiming to raise a total of £40,000 for the charity; enough to grant ten wishes, through a series of fund-raising initiatives and one unique event; the Ski the World Challenge in Courmayeur from Friday 30 March – Sunday 1 April 2012.
Teams of two will battle it out
Taking place in this unrivalled Italian resort, Courmayeur will host this exclusive Premiere event, with teams of two skiers battling it out over three days and attempting to ski the combined vertical drop of the highest peaks in each of the world’s seven continents – over 43,000 metres in just three days – equating to 50 loops on a chairlift or 35 on the gondola.
Graham Bell taking part
Graham Bell will be present for the event, skiing in a team of two with the successful winner of a recent Make A Wish auction prize.
Graham comments: “I’m thrilled to be part of such a great cause and the Ski The World challenge highlights the importance of a continual flow of income for Make A Wish – a charity which makes such a difference to children with life-threatening illnesses across the UK. In order to do this, our hope is to make this an annual event in the European skiing calendar, adding an alternative twist each year.”
